Friday 5: Things We’re Thankful for this Week.
Each Friday, I want to take the time to really reflect on what we are thankful for as a family, called the Friday 5.
I hope to list 5 things that I am thankful for every week. It might be products that we loved and that really helped our family in some way, or it might be personal or family accomplishments that I just want to shout out and thank God for His help! Hopefully encouraging you along the way with helpful tips, products, and inspiration.
We’ve switched almost completely to Aldi for our groceries lately. Feeding this family is expensive and the cost is going to keep going up and up once Asher is born and eating solids! I can stretch our food budget so far at Aldi! Several years ago, I had given them a try and wasn’t thrilled with the produce section, but they have really improved and I love all the organic selection they have now! Our budget is much happier!
TWO: MINI VAN
I have driven a minivan since high school! It was the first car I learned to drive, and I loved being able to drive all my friends around back then, too. I drove several small cars in between then and now, but with 3 kids and one on the way, there is nothing better to me than all the room a mini van offers. Sliding doors in the school pick-up line and in parking lots with gusts of wind and small hands. Lots of versatility and space to make our large family fit. Asher’s seat is officially installed, which means we have 2 high back boosters and 2 rear facing car seats in right now, and there is still PLENTY of room! This is seriously on my thankful list every single day.
THREE: BIG KIDS
Having the big kids back in the house is so great! After several different types of summer camps and activities, I’m so thankful to have them here to play with Finn and help out around the house. They are such sweet kids and I love to watch them grow and learn just as much as the littles. Their personalities couldn’t be more different from each other, which sometimes makes getting along difficult, but it also helps to build up their personalities and to learn how to get along with those who aren’t just like us! I’m soaking it up before school starts.
(This is a sneak peak at what I have planned for our game room, which will be transforming into more of a play room here soon!)
How did we all live without Pinterest? haha! I kid, but seriously, so many ideas floating around and it’s such a great way for me to gather my thoughts! Lately I’ve been loving on all the preschool and tot school for Finn! Make sure to follow me to see what I have brewing.
FIVE: A GOOD MATTRESS
This is my first pregnancy on a good mattress and it makes all the difference! I still get up a million times to go to the bathroom and I still have to switch sides throughout the night, which is always a fun trick with no core strength and a giant pillow between my knees, but the rest is so much better when I am actually getting it. I’m sure Keith doesn’t mind how little he feels me moving around compared to our old mattress, either.
We got the Tuft and Needle at the beginning of this year and I have never regretted it! So comfy! (P.S. this is not sponsored at all, I just love my sleep that much)
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
That’s my Friday 5! What are you thankful for?
